Trexlertown, Pa- The Valley Preferred Cycling Center is gearing up for its 40th anniversary-racing season with a full slate of Friday night fun for the month of June including an anniversary night, The Festival of Speed and more.
The 40th anniversary night kicks the month off on June 5. The jam-packed night includes a 40th anniversary poster giveaway, a Clover Hill Winery tasting as well as a visit from state representative Gary Day.
The fun continues on June 12th, with the Fastest Man on Wheels night. It is a wing lover’s paradise that evening with a Wing Fling at BreakAway Café. Also, 99.9-FM The Hawk and Kara Curry are broadcasting live from the plaza.
Seven days later the Festival of Speed Kick off to summer sets the VPCC up for the changing of the seasons. Clover Hill returns again, this time for a wine slushie night. Also, the night will be tropical with a Best Surfer Contest and Best Hawaiian Shirt contest bringing the island life to T-Town. The public is encouraged to wear their best Hawaiian gear.
The next day, June 20, is Red Robin Family Night. The fun is set for families of all ages with a water balloon toss and a three-legged race and more.
The Keirin Cup and Dutch Night on June 26 sends out the month of June in style at the VPCC. The public is encouraged to get into the theme by wearing their German attire, with the best outfits getting a prize. Also, more ‘Oktoberfest’ games and contests are set to fill the plaza that evening, including the Beer Stein Race, where contestants hold as many filled beer steins and race to see who can fill the bucket the most in the allotted time.
Each Friday night this summer features Olympic action racing, with racers from around the world.
