After a month of international flavor at Valley Preferred Cycling Center with over 11 nations being represented week in and week out on the track, VPCC is hitting home with its upcoming World Series of Bicycling events in the month of July.
The action starts on July 10 after not having racing on July 3 due to the Fourth of July. It begins with Tandemonium and Honoring America Night. Tandemonium is one of the most exciting nights of the season with the unique cycling on the track. This year should be even more appealing for spectators as the Breakaway Café will be selling hot dogs for $1 all night long. Additionally, multiple Hometown Heroes will be honored that evening and all past or active military members receive free admission with proof of I.D. Also, all active first responders receive free admission with proof.
The Wing Fling Grill Toss makes a comeback as well on July 10 as contests compete for a free grill. Additionally, Allentown Beverage will have Budweiser specials and will be giving away tickets to the Counting Crows concert August 30th at the Sands Event Center.
July 17 is the Keystone Cup/Women’s Open and Ladies Night with $1 ‘Ritas to help the celebrations. VPCC is partnering with Making Strides against Breast Cancer for that evening as well. The night isn’t all about the women, however, as there will be a bike race for men in heels and there will also be a Bra Relay with water balloons.
The U.S. 10 Mile Championships are the following week as well as Legends Night. There will be a vintage bike contest for prizes and fans are encouraged to wear their best vintage shirt or jersey for another chance to win for prizes. Also, there will be a grand reveal by VPCC.
The Air Products Finals wrap up the month on July 31, which is also Family Night. There will be fun for all ages, including a three-legged race. Additionally, Adams Outdoor Advertising will be sponsoring a children’s coloring contest where chosen artwork will be used for our next billboards.
General admission tickets are $5, with finish line tickets being $8. Season tickets are still available by calling 610-395-7000.
