Joining KUTV as a voice of KU sports

Some of you may remember me saying on The Morning After many months ago that I had something in the works to return to press boxes on the sidelines of PSAC athletics.

Well, that something is officially in place.

I’m excited to announce that I am joining Kutztown University Television as one of their voices for Kutztown University athletics.

I will serve as a sideline reporter for football broadcasts this fall and will provide play-by-play for field hockey and women’s volleyball broadcasts. My role for other sports is yet to be determined.

I am very grateful for this position as it is something I have missed doing since my departure from Edinboro last December. Calling games was something I never did until I became a Fighting Scot in the fall of 2014 and I instantly fell in love with it.

kutvMike Fenner, my former broadcasting partner, was a great role model for me as he showed me how to handle myself in the role and how to prepare for a game.

Also, I’d like to thank Bryan Salvadore, the Kutztown University Sports Information Director, as well as Cara Cotellese, the KUTV Advisor, for wanting to bring me on board, welcoming me right away, and making this a great opportunity for me.

Lastly, I’d like to thank Edinboro SID Bob Shreve for the great recommendation he gave of me to Kutztown to help make all of this possible.

I’ll make my debut during KUTV’s broadcast of the Mercyhurst at Kutztown football game on Saturday night. That is a 5:05 p.m. kickoff.

My first broadcast doing play-by-play comes on Sept. 20 during the KUTV broadcast of the Shippensburg at Kutztown field hockey game at 7 p.m.
